John is the Island of Misfit Toys’ lead guitarist.
John grew up on the North Side of Chicago. His guitar journey began at age 13 when he started playing electric guitar to annoy his father. The journey continued through rock bands, the college jazz band at Notre Dame, and even a brief stint as a bass player in a Serbian wedding band!
John took a brief pause from musical performance while going through his internship, residency, and fellowship training. John returned to jamming shortly thereafter, playing in jazz fusion and rock bands including SMITTYVISION (together with our own Jay Harris on bass!), Fritzel Logic and Gitchagumi. John continues to perform with the latter two bands today.
