Sarah is the Island of Misfit Toys’ keyboardist and background vocalist.
Sarah is a classically trained pianist. She grew up playing everything from classical greats to Broadway hits to alternative rock songs. She performed as both a piano soloist and accompanist. Sarah also played a number of other instruments — none of which belong in a rock band, unfortunately — through the years. She’s performed with jazz bands, concert bands, and other ensembles.
Sarah joined the School of Rock Oak Park’s “Grad School” program in 2018, looking for an opportunity to play keys in a new setting. She lucked into getting to play in School of Rock bands with Island of Misfit Toys’ founders Tom Carraher and Jay Harris. Sarah then made her rock band debut with The Island of Misfit Toys in 2019.
